On July 15th, the Harry Potter series comes to a close. The concluding chapter of a story fourteen years in the making. The last movie. The last time we’ll line up at the theater eight hours early. The last time we’ll see the Harry Potter logo flash across the screen. The last time we’ll read the books and wonder how they’re going to do that scene in the movie. The last time we’ll be annoyed with our friends for asking questions because they haven’t read the books. The last time we’ll draw lightning scars on our foreheads with lipliner for the midnight premiere. The last time we’ll anticipate our favourite scene coming up. The last time we’ll heard Hedwig’s theme play. The last time we’ll see Hermione use her brilliance to get the boys out of trouble. The last time we’ll see Ron find the humor in the darkest situations. The last time we’ll see Harry be a hero. The last time we’ll see the brightest witch of her age, the king, and the boy who lived prove to us that magic exists. For those of you who have stuck with Harry until the very end, congratulations. Because on July 15th, we’ll have made it to the end, together. As the Harry Potter Generation.30. June 2011
